WELCOME
My name is Lughaidh Mac Giolla Bhríghde.

I've been a paramedic with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service for twelve years. Last Year I
learned about a charity called
Playing For Life, which is working extensively with communities in
Africa on projects to improve the quality of life for people and communities.

On October 18th 2006, I travelled as part of a group from Ireland to Malawi, where we were
engaged in a number of projects to assist people living with HIV and AIDS.  2007 I returned to the
country again but before I left I have been worked on other projects. If you remember I met Mary
O Neill , the wife of the Irish Consul, and travelled with her to the mission at Nametembo where I
met Fr. Owen O Donnell. Well Mary and her friend a very lovely woman by the name of Diane
Calisse have set up a charity in Malawi to foster the education of girls. All the info can be found by
clicking the link
www.ubwino.org/ . Diane was our driver the day I went to Nametembo and I glad
it was her as I don't know if I could negotiate the roads. PFL has sent out a container and included
were supplies for the hospital and many other projects. 50 starter packs for the Girls of pencils
etc. were delivered as were some medical supplies and Ambulance uniforms for the Guys at
Saint Luke's.

If you read Marys web-site you will see the value of the work so the fund raising starts here. Send
or Give me donations for Mary or Father Owen as well as Playing For Life. I will ensure that the
money gets where you want it to go. The response in 2006 was fantastic before I left for Malawi I
had been given over £9000 sterling and €1000. Some individuals asked me to take the money
directly to Malawi and identify good causes whilst I was there and I did this.
